2020 was Taylor Swift's year, the female artist created more than seven new records!

2020 was a nightmare for all of us, until Taylor Swift decided to save 2020 (well, atleast for Swifties) by releasing two albums in a span of only four and a half months. She took the internet by storm when she announced her eight studio album, FOLKLORE hours before releasing it. Honestly, the fans were pretty content with folklore, but little did they know she was going to release another album, EVERMORE in December, 2020.

With the release of FOLKLORE and EVERMORE, she not only gave us a reason to cry our hearts out but also broke several major records in the music industry.

Taylor Swift also released a documentary on Netflix in 2020 called "Miss Americana" portraying her journey in the music industry , discussed her eating disorders and how her music evolved tremendously over the years.

1. With folklore and evermore debuting at #1 on Billboard 200, cardigan and willow debuting at #1 on Billboard Hot 100, Taylor Swift became the first and only artist in Billboard history to debut twice at #1 on both the Billboard 200 and Billboard Hot 100 simultaneously.

2. Folklore spent a total of 8 weeks atop Billboard 200, the most for an album released in 2020. And with evermore spending 3 weeks at #1 on the chart, Taylor Swift now ties Michael Jackson for the fourth most weeks at #1 (51) in Billboard 200 history. This makes her the female artist with most week atop this chart.

3. Among female artists, she has had the most Hot 100 entries. She is also the sixth artist (both male and female) with most top 10 entries on Hot 100.

4. Taylor Swift also became the first artist to spend 45 weeks at no. 1 on artist 100 chart.

5. The album, Folklore became the female album with largest first-day streams with 80.6 million. This record was previously held by Thank U, next with 70 million streams.

6. Evermore by Taylor Swift also surpassed 67.3 streams on its first day and is now the third album with most first-day streams.

Taylor and Ariana are also the only female artists with six albums surpassing 1 billion streams on Spotify. With Speak Now close to 900 million streams and evermore surpassing 600 million streams on Spotify, Swift is actually coming for 8 albums (with a billion streams).

7. She was also the most streamed female artist on Spotify for 2020.

8. She also became the first woman to log two albums in the top 3 of the Billboard 200 since 1963 (via Republic records).

Just a day ago, Taylor Swift surpassed Ed Sheeran and now, is the biggest artist on Worldwide Apple Music Album Chart in history. Taylor was also the most streamed artist across all genres on Amazon Music in 2020. Ms. Swift also holds the record for most songs, 45 reaching #1 on US iTunes, more than any other artist in the platform’s history. Taylor also had the top selling album of the year (2020) in the US for a historic fifth time.

This was surely Tayor Swift's year!
