My first year at Delhi University ft. Aashna
Updated: Nov 5, 2020
Delhi University is considered to be one of the most prestigious and popular universities in the country. There is no student in the country unfamiliar with the “DU Hype”, especially the ones from Commerce and Humanities streams. With various top-ranking colleges of the likes of SRCC, LSR, Miranda House, Hindu college etc, DU has a reputation of being one of the best places to get quality education at a nominal price.
I have been lucky enough to be a part of the university for a year now, although I could attend my college for only a little over 6 months due to the COVID-19 situation, it’s always refreshing to look back at the fun times we had there.

The Vishwavidyalaya Metro Station, a second-home to us in our college life after our college itself. Many of us spent HOURS commuting not only from home to college but roaming around Delhi as well! Frankly, I
think this is what I did for most of the part while bunking classes :P

I am from Hansraj College, Delhi University. Famous personalities like Shahrukh Khan and Gunjan Saxena graduated from here! It's unfortunate I barely got a year to study here.
Delhi University promises one of the best opportunities to shine individually and to seek your hobbies and talents. Students of DU are also very active, politically. The Delhi University Student Election, generally known as DUSU is held very enthusiastically every year. The campaigning by the parties and candidates really blew my mind!

Kamla Nagar during the campaigning days was pretty much littered by all these pamphlets and crowds of students actively preparing for the elections.

You know the best part of being in Delhi? THE FOOD.

Maggi from Tom Uncle Maggi Point, one of the students' favourite spot in the campus!
Last but not the least, what is life in DU without the fests?!

Food Fest at my college

The Diwali Fest at Lady Shri Ram College, Delhi University.
I could write on and on about life at DU, although I spent a very short time there. We miss it almost everyday and are hoping for things to improve so we can be back as soon as possible, together.
