Season 4 of "The Crown" covered the ,"Princess Diana era" , Emma Corrin played Lady Di and the show received more audience than Prince Charles and Lady Diana's wedding.
However, this season was rather "explosive" and the palace issued several warnings to Netflix and the makers of "The Crown" to add a disclaimer before each episode claiming that the show is a work of fiction. Netflix ignored the warnings and the makers even insulted the Queen. Netflix even signed a contract with Prince Harry wherein they cannot control "anti Royal shows".
The immense popularity of "The Crown" indicated a demand for more shows and movies about the Royal family , "Spencer" , a film based on Princess Diana's life starring Kristen Stewart is already in the filming process.
Other shows that grabbed eyeballs in the drama category were - "Ratched" , "Ozark" , "The Mandolarian" , "Lovecraft Country"
